Restoring Older Buildings Is About Respecting the Original Architect

When I'm working on restoration projects, I always have in mind the original architect of the building. I actually "talk" to the architect - I whisper some words that are both complimentary and humbline when on the job to show some respect. It's our job to ensure the original design is maintained and the spirit and feeling the building conveys isn't lost in our restoration. As some jobs are quite intensive and may require new materials altogether, we must always be conscious of the purpose of restoration. We are not re-building, we are restoring, regalvanising and invigorating the original design. I'm always on the look out for such jobs - I'm often entering keywords like roofing contractors uk to see what kinds of restoration jobs are available and in the pipeline. When my skills are called upon, I always do research on the building first - I want to know everything about it before I begin work on it.
