The Artificial Surface of Our Hockey Pitch Makes Games More Fun

The problem with playing hockey at our local school was that the grass got cut so infrequently. Some games were ridiculous - you cannot play hockey when you can hardly see the ball amongst the tall grass (I exaggerate to make a point here!). The ball reacts very differently when even the grass is just a few days after it was last cut. You need a really smooth surface, so eventually (and inevitably) we all contributed funds towards an artificial surface, with a regular artificial pitch cleaning service too. Since then, we've had more people sign up to our league which is a good thing. Our league has grown from 10 teams to 16 in the last 12 months. We might split it into two divisions and hold games on more days in the week too. And now we don't need to worry about getting the pitch cut too of course!
